Forstman FM40 with FT30 trailer
Model 1
The basic Model 1 consists of the Forstman FM40 crane and the FT30 trailer. This setup represents the minimum configuration, including two pairs of logging posts, controls mounted directly on the trailer, and hydraulic power supplied by the tractor’s own pump. The hoses are fitted with a protective sleeve, the rotator is provided by Formiko, and the control valve comes with joysticks. The trailer is equipped with a straight towbar and a 45 mm hook. The trailer frame is hot-dip galvanized, and the crane is powderpainted in blue RAL5002.
Made of St355 steel, grapple of Hardox 450.

Model 2
The Model 2 consists of the Forstman FM40 crane and the FT30 trailer. This setup has 3 pairs of logging posts, controls mounted directly on the trailer and hydraulic power supplied by the tractor’s own pump. The hoses are fitted with a protective sleeve, the rotator is provided by Formiko, and the control valve comes with joysticks. The trailer is equipped with a angled towbar and a 45 mm hook (suitable for Solis 20 and Solis 26 tractors or similar compact tractors ). The trailer frame is hot-dip galvanized, and the crane is powderpainted in black RAL9005.

The Model 3 consists of the Forstman FM40 crane and the FT35 trailer. Model 4
The Model 4 consists of the Forstman FM40 crane and the FT30 trailer. It features three pairs of logging posts, with controls mounted directly on the trailer and hydraulic power supplied by a PTO pump. The hoses are protected with a sleeve, the rotator is supplied by Formiko, and the control valve is operated via joysticks. The trailer is equipped with both a straight hook and a 45 mm hook, making it suitable for compact tractors. Both the trailer frame and the crane are powder-coated in black (RAL 9005).
In addition, the setup includes a 1500 mm trailer rear extension, a W100 hydraulic winch, a PTO pump (Series 2) with a 30-liter oil tank, a structure made of ST355 steel, and a grapple made of Hardox 450. This is the best-selling configuration of all time.

Model 6
The Model 6 consists of the Forstman FM50T crane with a 5.1 m telescopic reach and the FT35 trailer. This setup includes all available extras: three pairs of logging posts, trailer-mounted controls, a PTO pump, a premium control valve, two quick-arms, a W100 hydraulic winch, a TeleRadio remote system for both the winch and 4WD, and two working lights.
The hydraulic hoses are fitted with protective sleeves, and the rotator is supplied by Formiko. The trailer is equipped with an angled towbar and a 45 mm hook. The frame is hot-dip galvanized, while the crane is powder-coated in blue (RAL 5002).
Both the trailer and the crane are built from ST355 steel, and the grapple is made of Hardox 450.

Frequently asked questions
While more power is always better, the main principle for a lightweight trailer is to protect the forest ground. If the trailer is lightweight, the tractor should be as well. In our experience, the ideal tractor for our trailer has 25–35 hp, although it is also possible to operate with a 16 or 20 hp tractor.
We offer crane models with reaches of 3.5 m, 4 m, and 5.1 m with telescope. While a longer reach is generally better, the most popular model tend to be the FM40 or the 4 m version, which provides more than enough reach for most tasks. The FM35 is better suited for small tractors with 16–20 hp, while the FM50T or the 5.1 m reach model, is ideal for working more professional applications.
We offer the FT25, FT30, and FT35 trailer models. The FT25 is a narrow version, with a width of 1280–1480 mm; the FT30 ranges from 1580–1680 mm (the most common), and the FT35 is 1780 mm wide. Trailer width is important when maneuvering between trees or during thinning operations, so we recommend choosing a trailer that matches your tractor.
We strongly recommend using a PTO pump, as it keeps the oil separate from the tractor, allowing the tractor to run almost at idle. This saves fuel and reduces noise. For hydrostatic tractors, a PTO pump is highly recommended. With manual gearbox models, the tractor own can be used, but please keep in mind the oil capacity – typically the oil in the tractor’s rear axle is quite small amount and tends to overheat. Therefore a PTO pump is almost essential.
Yes and no. A W100 hydraulic winch is not mandatory, but once you try it, you won’t want to work without one. It is a remote-controlled hydraulic winch with 40 m × 5 mm wire and a pulling capacity of up to 1,300 kg. You can use it to pull logs closer to the trailer, lift them onto the trailer, handle fallen trees and windblown timber, or even pull yourself out of a ditch. The winch offers many advantages, though it is possible to work without one – if you really want to…
In most cases, no. However, if the soil is very wet or you are working on steep terrain, the 4WD system can be very useful. It operates with two 100 cc OMR motors, controlled by an electric solenoid and managed via a remote – no extra wires or buttons are needed for installation. The Robson rolls also function as a brake: once they are lowered, they prevent the tires from moving unless the control buttons are pressed.
This is completely up to the customer. We usually go through the setup step by step together, and if something seems unusual, we ask why that specific modification is needed. Custom-made options and modifications are part of our daily routine, but 90% of trailers are delivered with the standard setup, which has been well accepted on the market.
We offer a 12-month (1-year) warranty for our cranes and trailers. Hydraulic hoses, tires, stickers, and similar consumables are not covered by the warranty.
This is the most common and pressing question—and by asking it, you’ve already answered it yourself. For international deliveries, we require 100% prepayment before the order is processed and shipped. If the setup is completely custom, delivery times may be longer, and such details should be discussed before placing the order. Please keep in mind that the trailers are built and assembled according to the customer’s specifications, which take time. If you are looking for next-day delivery, then this product is not for you.
Generally, we prepare a price quote for the desired machine or machines, and the customer can then decide if it suits them. We use DSV Transport services in about 90% of cases, but other carriers are not excluded.
