The tractor’s power largely depends on the diameter of the trees to be cut, whether they are fresh or dry, alder or oak, etc. The machine weighs 520-610 kg, so it is also suitable for smaller tractors. We have operated the Klapi-Tuiko with a 20 kW / 26 hp tractor, and it managed 18 cm trees, although that was quite at the limit. Ideally, it should be used with a tractor starting from 40 kW / 52 hp. The more power, the better. PTO shaft: 1 3/8″ 6-spline.

The feed opening size is 21 x 31 cm. Since the cutting blades run in a V-shape from the bottom edge, the maximum tree diameter that can be fed is approximately 21 cm. The length of the split logs can be easily set with a limiter to 25-30-40-50-60-70 cm, with an additional +5 cm offset adjustment, allowing log lengths of 30-35-45-55-65 cm. Productivity depends greatly on the operator and the diameter of the wood. Generally, it can be estimated at 6–12 m³/h.

The conveyors are available in 2 m and 3 m lengths, with a width of 45 cm. The 3 m version is the base model, which we produce most frequently. A 4 m folding conveyor is also available, but it is only made as a custom order. About 50+ units of the 4 m version have been made over the years, making it a rather rare version, but we can produce one on request. The machine’s belt is a 2.6 mm PVC belt, which typically lasts about 10 years on the machine. Heavier users may experience a slightly shorter lifespan. It is considered a wear part and is always available as a spare. The belt price is around €200.

Generally, no. The blades are made of Hardox 450 and should last 10–15 years. If the blades get damaged, it is possible to sharpen them yourself using, for example, a P40 flap grinding disc. Care should be taken not to overheat the metal at the edge (“turn it blue”). If sharpening is not successful, a blade set for 8 mm blades costs €270 (3 blades + reinforcement). We also ship directly to customers abroad (SmartPost, DPD, GLS, UPS, DHL, etc.).

Various spare parts are available from us. Chains, bearings, shafts, belts, blades, or hand winches—these are standard components and are easy to find in different hardware stores. Therefore, it is not always necessary to order them from us, and in some cases, a local hardware store may be more cost-effective. This mostly applies to international customers. For example, sending 2 bearings to Germany costs €19, while the bearings themselves cost €8. So, shipping can be more expensive than the spare part itself.

We offer a 36-month, i.e., 3-year warranty. The machine is very robust, and there is little that can actually break. Consumable parts, such as the conveyor belt after 2.5 years of use, are not covered under the warranty.

This is the most pressing and frequently asked question, and by asking it, you already answer it yourself. For international deliveries, we require 100% prepayment before the order is processed and shipped. Additional transport costs may apply unless otherwise agreed (the customer arranges transport themselves or picks up the machine).

Generally, we prepare a price quote for the desired machine or machines, and the customer can then decide if it suits them. We use DSV Transport services in about 90% of cases, but other carriers are not excluded.
